Jake Svenddal ’22: Sports

November 8, 2019

Jake Svenddal ’22 plays on the Boys’ Hockey team. Last year, he was on swing line, meaning he played in both JV and Varsity games. Svenddal would practice with Varsity daily, either at 3:45-5:15 p.m or 5:30-7:00 p.m. Additionally, he says the hockey team has workouts, film sessions, and yoga, which can add up to an hour of additional off-ice work per day. In order to make sure he finishes all his homework, he works during free block and makes a list of his assignments in order to stay focused on the work he has to do. Svenddal also says that “gamedays are very hard because we spend a lot more time at the rink getting prepared. We get to the rink at 4:00 p.m and leave at 9:30 p.m on gamedays.”
