Jim Lindsay retires, replaced by Rathmann

Jim Lindsay, director of Blake’s athletics department, will be retiring this year after many years of service to the school community. The administration will replace him with Nick Rathmann, a social studies teacher at the Middle School. Rathmann is currently the boys’ varsity basketball coach, and the team is having its best season in years. He has also coached middle school football and baseball.
“The committee was excited about Nick’s energy and enthusiasm,” said Lindsay Youngdahl, the Assistant Athletic Director and a member of the committee that vetted the candidates to replace Lindsay. Youngdahl repeatedly mentioned Rathmann’s commitment to every level of sports at Blake. His familiarity with the school will certainly help him as he takes up the mantle of his new position.
