Better late than never…so they say.  Girls’ soccer is the undefeated regular season team, ranked 2nd statewide (just short of Wayzata), top 60 nationally, and 1st in their Class A.

In 2024, the Bears dominated nearly every opponent. They finished the regular season with an undefeated record of (15-0-1), sweeping conference play and making piles of clean matches. They posted three shutout wins:  6-0 against Roosevelt, 7-0 against Westonka, and 9-0 conference win against Minnehaha Academy.

After playoff wins over Edison and Roosevelt, the girls then played Orono in the Section 5AA final. Despite controlling possessions and pressing, the Bears fell 1-0, ending the season one game shy of the state tournament. A single goal was all it took to separate a dream season from a state run, but the missing goal fueled this season’s hunger for more.

So this season, they are back and playing like a team with something to prove. Co-captain Charley Bowles ’26 said, “I think the main goal is obviously to win state…Beat Orono definitely.”

As it is now, this team is ready for everything this season has to offer. “[We’re] surpassing people’s expectations because we’re still excelling without our strong seniors from last year,” said Bowles. Co-captain Jane Stanchfield ’26 adds, “Everyone is super hard working and diligent in practice which helps us in turn perform well once we got on the field.”

They have an undefeated record of 9-0-1, winning against schools like Minnehaha Academy, Breck, SPA, Providence, and Holy Family, 0 losses, and are consecutive Conference Champions. They have a game tonight at 4:30 p.m. against Eden Prairie.

The blood, sweat, and hunger culminates for what they desire most: Champions at the US Bank Field.
