Spectrum: How were you feeling about today’s game?
SO: I feel really good. All of our players…played well. We got some people in that had never even seen the court at a varsity level. They just got promoted, and everyone played a point tonight, which means they all lettered, which is great.
Spectrum: How does your team combat pregame anxiety?
SO: A lot of them have their own routines of like a little snack that they always have or a song they listen to. And then as a team, it’s been really important for us to make sure we do our dynamic warmups all together and just have this team routine that gets us all focused together.
Spectrum: What are you most proud of in regards to today’s game and your team?
SO: How good of teammates they all work for each other. Sometimes it’s frustrating to get subbed out of a game, but you’re excited for the person that’s going in. These girls did a great job of being great teammates in that regard. And that could be tough to do when you’re trying to get ready for our next match which is on Friday. A lot of those starters want the reps so that they can be fully prepared. But they’ll get back at it at practice tomorrow.
