As the leaves begin to fall, the cold weather enables the reemergence of items such as puffer jackets, scarves, and hats.
Many students use layering in their outfits to ensure they’re not sacrificing style to keep warm. Pullovers from brands such as Abercrombie, Alo, and Aritzia are popular amongst students. Sweatshirts and hoodies layered with vests are a common sight in the hallways. Quarter zips have also recently emerged as a popular closet staple.
Outerwear also plays a big role in keeping students warm in the cold Minnesota winters.
The Artizia Super Puff is a common puffer jacket option among students. Minha Ali ‘27, who recently purchased a Super Puff, her “dream jacket”, stated, “The first time I tried it on, I instantly knew it was perfect for style, comfort, and practicality.” Another option is trench coats, which are a completely different style, but add a layer of elegance to one’s outfit.
Every year without fail, UGG boots make their reappearance as the temperatures drop. Whether it’s the Tasman Slippers or the Classic Ultra Mini Boots, this brand is popular among students, and many can be seen sporting these iconic shoes in the hallways.
Accessories are also fun additions to winter outfits. Recently, many have started wearing thick headbands. This practical item keeps one’s hair out of their face while still offering a chic look. More basic items, such as hats and gloves, also keep students warm.
In terms of dressing up for fancier events, many opt to wear a sweater, whether that be one with a fun design or a simpler knitted one. Some wear a skirt with tights with these sweaters, and others wear jeans or leather pants. These outfits are commonly paired with fancier leather boots of all lengths and colors.
Winter offers the perfect opportunity for one to try out new styles and types of clothing! Even when the temperatures drop below freezing, there are many options to keep you warm and stylish.
