Almost ten days before Minnesota’s Governor Walz announced the “shelter-in-place,” local grocery stores and pharmacies were left empty. Amidst the chaos of growing COVID-19 cases, Americans have taken it upon themselves to stock up on essential household items, many of which being cleaning supplies. In times of crisis many Americans seem to forget all logic and buy more than what is necessary, leaving others with little to nothing. 

(Top) On March 16, 2020, there are only a couple loaves left at Jerry’s Foods in Edina. 

(Bottom two) On the same day at Lunds and Byerlys, the bleach section was completely empty.
