Aidan Zhang ’25 throws away his food after lunch on Friday, Oct. 27.

The current topic of our student government, Forum, revolves around many people’s favorite part of the day: lunch. Currently, the most popular lunches being served regularly are unsurprisingly pizza and cookies. However, the recent odd-ball hit happens to be salmon. Many others have also reported that they liked the ice cream treats, which we’ll see more of in the future.

In terms of our food wastage, the kitchen reports that there is less being thrown away compared to previous years, however, food waste is still a problem. “I just have a hard time as a stewart of the globe when I see someone take six pieces of chicken and eat two of them,” Brett Weber, the chef manager, stated during the Forum meeting on Thursday, September 28th.

A concern noted by the kitchen staff was the common misuse of the compostable cups located in the cafeteria. These beverage cups are for students and staff who are unable to return the cup to the cafeteria. The school spends thousands a year on these paper cups, and so many of them go to waste.Frida
