Pancakes on a Stick

from http://www.number-2-pencil.com/2012/06/13/pancake-pops/?utm_source=familyshare&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=SNAP

Instructions (from website)

  1. Make pancake batter.
  2. Once the batter has been mixed together, place sticks on the griddle (Make sure they have been soaked in water if they are wooden so they aren’t flammable)
  3. Spoon the batter into the shape of a circle over each stick. (Be sure not to make them too big so they don’t fall off of the stick once you are finished cooking them.)
  4. Once they have been cooked on one side, flip them over with the stick remaining in them (This is easier with another person to help you hold the stick as you flip so it doesn’t separate from the pancake.)
  5. Once this side is done, use a spatula to remove the pancake from the griddle and plate it!

Final Comments: It is really hard to flip the pancakes since you are supposed to place the stick on the pancakes as you cook them and then flip them with the stick inside them. It is really hard to keep it all together.

Three Ingredient Nutella Cupcakes

https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/2013/09/3-ingredient-nutella-mini-cupcakes/

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Nutella
  • 10 tbsp of flour
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together
  2. Divide the batter among cupcake liners
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes until fully cooked.

Final Comments: These cupcakes ended up being really rich, and chocolaty! We had to bake these for much longer than expected. The cupcakes were not very moist or fluffy but more of a brownie.

Five Minute Mug Cake

https://afternoontea4two.com/2016/05/23/5-minute-mug-cakes/

Ingredients

  1. 5 tbsp flour
  2. ¼ tsp baking powder
  3. 3 tbsp sugar
  4. ¼ cup milk
  5. 1 egg
  6. 2 tsp vanilla extract
  7. 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions (from the website)

  1. Whisk together dry ingredients in a 16-ounce microwave-safe mug.
  2. In a measuring cup, whisk together wet ingredients, then pour into the mug and stir until the batter is smooth.
  3. Microwave for 50-70 seconds.

Final Comments: This cake was absolutely disgusting! It tasted very spongy and not at all like a cake. We had to cook the mug cake over the recommended time because it was not fully cooked, so we would recommend stopping it periodically to see if it’s done and if not add a minute and keep checking on it like this.
