5 Healthy Snack Options To Satisfy Your Cravings at Home

Avocado toast is one of the many healthier snack ideas that is perfect for quarantine.
Avocado toast is one of the many healthier snack ideas that is perfect for quarantine.

While stuck in quarantine, many of us have found ourselves with lots of free time and with free time comes snacking! It’s easy to turn to unhealthy and processed foods so here are a few simple and quick ideas for snacks to make.

Avocado toast is a delicious and healthy option. I like mine on whole wheat toast with olive oil drizzled over top and a sprinkle of sea salt. To make yours more flavorful you can add red pepper flakes, cumin, radish, or an egg.

Goat cheese and raspberries is another great option. Although this combination may sound odd, just hear me out. The sweetness of raspberries is perfectly balanced by the tanginess of the goat cheese. With raspberries beginning to come into season, it is the perfect time to try this snack.

Banana bread is a snack that has grown increasingly popular during quarantine. Google reported that it is the most searched recipe in the past month. You can easily make banana bread with a few overripe bananas and then save it to eat throughout the week.

Another great snack option is smoothies. The great thing about smoothies is that you can easily customize them to your liking. Personally, I like a strawberry banana smoothie that’s made with frozen fruit so you don’t have to add ice which can water the smoothie down. There are so many other combinations and you can truly just use whatever fruits or vegetables you have on hand.

Frozen grapes are a great snack that requires minimal effort. Simply destem and wash your grapes then pop them into a bag in the freezer. The grapes take a long time to go bad, and you can take as many out of the freezer as you want at a time. This makes it easy to freeze a large amount and grab a few anytime you want them.
