Zehra Kahn '18 and Annika Gutzke '19 organized the event and met with other student walkout leaders from schools throughout the metro area .

Lead by Anika Gutzke ’19 and Zehra Kahn ’18 over 30 students and faculty members participated in a peaceful walkout and 17 minutes of silence. Prior to the moments of silence, students gave both planned and spontaneous speeches. Both Gutzke and Kahn spoke, along with Anna Kruesel ’18Will Lyman ’19Adrian Lapadat ’19, and Io Thompson ’20.
